Fitch is the main suspect when philanthropist Henry Malloy is shot. Special Agent Jess Harkins is assigned to investigate his involvement which includes interrogating the other squad members. In the meantime, Fitch and Washington are assigned a bizarre case involving three murder victims on a public bus, thousands of dollars and a missing bus driver. As they try to track the money they discover a kidnapping gone wrong.
Detroit 1-8-7 is an upcoming American drama series that will air on ABC in Fall 2010.The series stars Michael Imperioli as Detective Louis Fitch, a respected while deeply misunderstood man fighting crime on the streets of Detroit. Episodes will air on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET/PT on ABC beginning September 21, 2010.The first season will feature 12 episodes. The pilot episode was shot in Atlanta, Georgia, although the series is set to film in Detroit.Originally planned as a mockumentary, ABC has decided to abandon the format.Although the pilot was filmed mockumentary style, scenes are being reshot to remove the format before the episode airs.
The show’s executive producer, David Zabel stated, “This is a crime show but we will explore various nooks and crannies in the communities and within that context there’s a lot of opportunity to see what’s positive in the city and see what’s heroic about the people fighting for what’s best for the city of Detroit.”
